1. Intestinal saprophytes.
These are beneficial bacteria - lactobacteria, bifidobacteria, enterococci and others. These guys make up our normal microflora. And if they are the majority, the other “guys” will not win.Normal microflora lives with us in a symbiotic relationship:
• Makes some vitamins for us (K, B1 B2, B6, B9).
• Makes enzymes that help digest food and break down fiber. It so happens that we eat coarse dietary fiber (fiber) precisely for them.
• Beneficial bacteria make the intestinal epithelium selectively permeable: what is needed will go into the internal environment, and what is not needed, for example, toxins and microbes, will not pass through the intestinal epithelium.
• Helps enhance the absorption of calcium, iron, and vitamin D ions through the intestinal walls.
